Wartburg’s Study Away Office

As a Journalism major and Graphic Design minor, I wanted to gain more experience in areas which helped advance my skills. So, I began working for the Study Away Office at Wartburg College as a marketing assistant.

In this position, I mainly focus on creating posters, social media posts, and digital slides for any upcoming events/information relevant to the office. As well as, dicussing with the Coordinator about project ideas and publishging/display dates for social media posts, posters, and digital slides.

All my projects for this office were completed using Adobe InDesign.

The purpose of these designs was to provide information on open office hours in a way that was easily comprehendible for students, while maintaining it’s visual aesthetics.

As this was my first project for the office, I was not sure of the creative freedom I had, so, I chose to work closely with Wartburg’s primary and secondary colors.

Davis Projects for Peace

Davis Projects for Peace is an opportunity for students to help their communities (local or global) while also building their own leadership, innovative, and conflict-resolution skills.

To make the designs stand-out I used a combination of bright blue and green, and also took inspiration from the scholarship’s official website for the right side.

Passport Awareness Month

Poster

This was a project to help bring attention to Passport Awareness month (September).

It is especially important for students that are interested in travelling abroad.

As this is an annual event, I focused on keeping the designs simple with general information, so they can be used continuously.

P.E.O. Internation Peace Scholarship for Women

This scholarship is offered to women who are international students in the U.S. The office wants to focus on not only students travelling abroad from U.S. but also students who are travelling abraod by being in the U.S.

For the color palette and font choices I chose to resemble the official website of P.E.O International.

Explore Semester Abroad

During the month of November the office Coordinator wanted to dedicate their time to be available to students and asnwer any of their inquiries. The Coordinator wanted to use the look of a calendar in the design based on previous employees’ work, so, I decided re-create that look based on a monthly planner.
